Conversations with a Toddler

The Little Man has become much more verbose as of late.

Not sure where he gets that¬†from…

It’s kind of awesome. All those times I’ve been sitting here, just wondering what is going through his mind as he plays? Well now I know. Not that it necessarily makes anymore sense, but at least now I know. For instance, yesterday during day 2 of our 15hr car ride back North, the following seemed to be on repeat:

“Aunt Emily’s washing machine go Ding! Ding!”

“Where car carrier go?”

“Mama push wrong button. Car go Beep Beep Beep.”

“There’s car carrier!”

“Happens sometimes. Try again tomorrow.”

“Where car carrier go?”

“Jesus” or “Cheese Its”

Despite hearing the same refrain over. and over. and over again, I’m still not sure which of the last two he was actually saying. But I figure either one’s a good thing to pray for when you’re not convinced you’re ever getting out of the car again.

It gets even more fun when you try and ask him a direct question. Like the other day, when the Big Man got him up from his afternoon solo wrestling match nap and the Little Man handed him something that could have been a raisin.

“Little Man, What is this?”

Pause for frantic search of the room, yielding no other previously digested raisins…

“Where did it come from?”

“Poo come from Butt.”

So. There anything else ya’ll would like to know?

Once, DH offered me $100 to change a poopy diaper. I was just getting into the shower, and it was HIS turn to watch her. Being the shopping hungry girl I am, I of course took him up on it.

No poo, it was just wet.

And he STILL paid me.
