I’m So Stupid-Proud

in How to be a Housewife

So I’ve been waiting for this day for weeks now.  Practically since the day the Little Man was born.  Definitely since the day a friend professed shock and awe that my little man hadn’t yet achieved what her angel did practically at birth.  (Have I mentioned lately that I’m a bit competitive?)

And today.

At which point,  I immediately called the Big Man.  At work.  In the middle of the afternoon.  BECAUSE HIS SON ROLLED OVER!

His response?

So did he roll off of anything?  No?  Ok.

That would be the Exact same response he gave when I told him I was pregnant.

Yes, Ladies & Gentlemen, I married Mr. Webster himself.  That, apparently, is the kind of vocabulary one can achieve after 7 years of college.

Realizing my mistake, I quickly decided to call the MIL instead.  Who was appropriately enthusiastic and squealy.  Until, half way through our subsequent conversation she forgot why I’d called.

How could anyone forget?  HE ROLLED OVER!  Sure, you’ve been up for days writing 5 different grants and preparing for our visit.  BUT HE ROLLED OVER!

The only thing that kept me from texting a picture to everyone in my phone was the fact that..well, I don’t actually know how to do that.

But don’t you worry.  By the time he learns to roll the other way – I’ll be ready!

Congrats! Every little milestone is so exciting. Isn't it incredible to watch someone grow like that?
